CONCERT Ensembles

The Timber Creek High School Band is the largest student organization at Timber Creek High School and is comprised of over 260 students. There are four concert bands that meet during the school day. Private lessons are available for any student during their band class. For information on private lessons, click here. In addition to band classes, there are multiple opportunities for participation in other individual and ensemble performances including All-Region/All-State, Solo & Ensemble, Jazz Band, and musical pit orchestra.

Wind Ensemble

Wind Ensemble is considered the top performing ensemble for the band program and is open to students in grades nine through twelve, although most students are grades eleven and twelve.  In order to be a member of this group, a student must:

  1. Demonstrate the highest level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to performances, rehearsals, and practice time (It is highly recommended that each student take individual private lessons in order to maintain the technical demands of the course)

  2. Pursue individual and ensemble goals on their instrument

  3. Attend weekly region sectionals during the fall semester

  4. Maintain academic eligibility according to the UIL No Pass, No Play guidelines

  5. Attend weekly sectionals held either before or after school between the months of January and May

  6. Attend a full ensemble rehearsal once weekly as scheduled during the spring semester

  7. Prepare and audition for the All-Region Band auditions

  8. Perform a solo or as part of an ensemble at the KISD Solo and Ensemble competition

  9. Attend additional performance opportunities specific to the Wind Ensemble

symphonic band

Symphonic band is the second performing ensemble for the band program and is open to students in grades nine through twelve, although most students are grades ten, eleven, and twelve. To be a member of this group, a student must:

  1. Demonstrate a high level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to performances, rehearsals, and practice time (It is highly recommended that each student takes individual private lessons in order to maintain the technical demands of the course)

  2. Attend weekly region sectionals during the fall semester

  3. Attend a weekly sectional held either before or after school between the months of January and May

  4. Prepare and audition for the All-Region Band auditions

  5. Perform a solo or as part of an ensemble at the KISD Solo and Ensemble competition

  6. Attend before school rehearsals daily starting at 8:15 a.m. for the entire school year

concert band I

Concert Band I is the third performing ensemble for the band program and is open to students in grades nine through twelve. To be a member of this group, a student must:

  1. Demonstrate a high level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to rehearsal and practice time (Private lessons are highly encouraged)

  2. Attend a weekly sectional held either before or after school between the months of January and May

  3. Prepare and audition for the All-Region Band auditions

  4. Perform either a solo or with an ensemble at the KISD Solo and Ensemble competition

  5. Attend after-school rehearsals daily from 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m beginning after marching season

Concert Band II

Concert Band II is the fourth performing ensemble for the band program and is open to students in grades nine through twelve. To be a member of this group, a student must:

  1. Demonstrate a high level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to rehearsal and practice time (Private lessons are highly encouraged)

  2. Attend weekly before or after school rehearsals as denoted by the band directors
